There’s a volunteer role for everyone.

Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity

Every connection creates the opportunity to build a better life.

A group of Habitat volunteers from Marietta College working in the ReStore

The Habitat mission is accomplished with volunteers!

Habitat volunteers possess the heart to serve their community and make a difference in someone’s life.  They understand their piece of the larger mission and give their time, effort, and expertise to accomplish great things as a team.

You don’t need skills to get started but you will leave with skills!

It takes over 1,500 volunteer hours to build a house.  The ReStore depends on over 50 hours of volunteer assistance weekly.  Behind the scenes, volunteers are crucial to fundraising, event planning, office operations, and leadership teams.

We welcome those who want to join the Habitat community of volunteers.

All it takes is a willingness to learn – we’ll handle the rest.

  • The Minimum age in ReStore is 14 years old. The minimum age for the construction site is 16 years old.

  • Every new volunteer must complete the Volunteer Orientation Registration. If you are unavailable for any of the scheduled times, orientations can be scheduled by appointment by calling our office. Orientations are required before volunteering.

  • Once you have completed your orientation, select one of the options below to schedule your time to work.

  • We welcome volunteers who are required by a court to do community service. We are currently accepting community service volunteers for the construction site and ReStore. Please call Ammie Rasmussen to discuss community service.

IMPORTANT: You may not fulfill court-ordered community service hours with Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley if you were assigned hours for any offense related to burglary, aggression or violence, sex-related crimes, weapons charges, or crimes involving minors.

  • Businesses, churches, and civic organizations find that serving their community together strengthens their relationships, improves morale, and gives back in a tangible way.

Private orientations can be scheduled to accommodate your group if needed.

We will plan your group volunteer day according to our construction schedule to ensure productivity and effectiveness.

Please contact our office to discuss your interest.
